PRESENTER: Dr. Stella Branzburg Sick — Mindful Practice
Dr. Stella Sick holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music and the University of Minnesota. A pioneer in the field of long distance instruction, Dr. Sick teaches piano locally and nationwide. She has been a Managing Director of the International Piano-e-Competition in Minnesota since 2004. A member of the Royal Conservatory College of Examiners and an active performer, Stella is an adjunct assistant instructor at Hamline University.

PRESENTER: Doug Rohde — MMTA Popular Styles Program
Doug teaches piano and improvisation at the Center for Performing Arts in Minneapolis, and has studied with Jerry Bergonzi, Gary Klemp, and Liz Wolff. He has been the music director for Collide Theatrical Dance Company, as well as Interact Center for the Visual and Performing Arts. Most notably, as an MMTA member, he led the development of the Popular Styles Exam program.

PRESENTER: Suzanne Greer — Educating Parents to be Effective Home Teachers
Suzanne Greer holds the Bachelor of Music in piano performance from St. Olaf College and the Master of Music in piano performance from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus. She holds the Certificate in Piano Pedagogy from the University of St. Thomas and is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music. From 1990 – 1991 she served as Artist-in-Residence for the Depot Outreach Artist Program in St. Louis County.
Currently, Suzanne is a full-time Artist Teacher at the MacPhail Center for Music where she instructs both Suzuki and Traditional piano students. Prior to teaching at MacPhail, she created the SG Studio Academy of Music in her home where she developed a strong Suzuki Parent Education Program and was awarded two Teacher Development Scholarships from the Suzuki Association of the Americas. In 2009, she was a recipient of the Robert Schmitt Professional Development Grant from the Minnesota Music Teachers Association (MMTA) Foundation. In 2017, she was awarded the Top Music Teacher Award from Steinway and Sons. Her students are consistent winners in local and state competitions.
Her goals for students are to develop a lifelong love of music that will provide strength and healing through the transformative power of music. In the words of Dr. Suzuki, “to become fine and noble human beings” devoted to carrying on musical traditions that may possibly save the world.
Active in many professional organizations, she served as Certification Commissioner for the Music Teachers National Association from 2018 - 2020. She has also served as President of the Minnesota Music Teachers Association, Minneapolis Music Teachers Forum, and the Suzuki Piano Teachers Guild. In addition, she performs regularly on the Artist Series of Thursday Musical. From 2014 - 2019, she participated in the Northwest Master Class in Seattle, Washington where she studied under Maestro Daniel Pollack.
Suzanne enjoys spending leisure time with her extremely supportive husband David and their two Fox Red Labradors: Vegas and Cam. Both David and Suzanne share a passion for motorcycling. They enjoy traveling together and have completed trips to western states, as well as both the Lake Superior and Lake Michigan Circle Tours. As a promoter of safe cycling, Suzanne is a certified motorcycle safety instructor for the State of Minnesota and Wild Prairie Harley Davidson.

We will be exploring the light-hearted and creative side of our club! We know there are hidden talents of many kinds within this group. “Ensembles” can mean many things and could include friends outside of Keyboard Club.
